California Regional Theatre (CRT) is a premier non-profit organization dedicated to delivering high-quality theatrical productions and fostering a deep connection with our local communities through the transformative power of the performing arts. Founded in Chico CA. by Bob Maness with a vision of bringing Broadway-caliber performances to Northern California, CRT has grown into a beloved institution that serves as both a creative outlet and cultural beacon for the region.
At CRT, we believe that theatre has the unique ability to inspire, educate, and entertain people of all ages and backgrounds. With each production, we strive to bring fresh, vibrant performances to the stage, featuring everything from timeless classics to contemporary works. Whether it’s a heartwarming musical or a poignant drama, every show we present aims to move, challenge, and uplift our audiences.
Our commitment goes beyond the stage. Through our education programs, CRT fosters the next generation of actors, directors, and theatre professionals. Since 2012 our CRT KIDS program has offered theatre classes and performance opportunities for over 200 children and teens each session, giving young talent the chance to develop their skills, confidence, and sense of community. We believe that the arts can play a vital role in personal growth, and we’re proud to nurture creativity in young performers.
In addition to offering professional-level productions, CRT values community engagement. We work to make theatre accessible to all, frequently collaborating with local organizations, schools, and artists to offer educational outreach and discounted performances. By building strong relationships with our community, CRT remains committed to enriching the cultural fabric of the region.
